Evaluation of synthesized polyaniline nanofibres as corrosion protection film coating on copper substrate by electrophoretic deposition

Abstract In this current paper, we report the use of inexpensive, simple electrophoretic deposition (EPD) technique in developing polyaniline (PANI) aqueous colloidal suspension coating on copper (Cu) substrate. Polyaniline nanoparticle films were deposited electrophoretically surface sheet electrode. A with high stability was produced by a liquid presence formic acid and acetonitrile as electrolyte for EPD process. The PANI characterized measuring zeta potential using zeta-sizer analyser. used barrier corrosion protection Cu sheet. Operating parameters such operating time, applied voltage, concentration at cathode. Characterization XRD, SEM, FT-IR, UV–Vis carried out, offered examined potentiodynamic (Tafel) polarization 3.5% NaCl solution room temperature. As result, optimum obtaining homogenous attained voltage 15 V time 180 s 50 mg/mL concentration. results indicated inhibition efficiency deposit 92.92% indicating against corrosion.
